Foods nursing mothers should avoid eating before a newborn photography session
In an effort to assist my clients to get the most out of their photography session I did some research about what foods tend to make a baby feel gassy and
came across an interesting article at www.babycenter.com by Karen and Gale Pryor that explains foods nursing mothers can avoid eating when nursing a baby.
We want you and your baby to feel calm and relaxed during your newborn photo shoot, and we understand as a new mother, there is nothing quite like the
comfort of your own home. Therefore, to get the most from your session and to help things move along efficiently, we strongly recommend abiding by
these recommendations at least 48 hours prior to your photo session. Doing so could make a huge difference between a two-hour session that captures
multiple setups, a variety of poses and comfortable family photographs compared to rushing and being limited to simple poses.
With all this in mind, here’s a summary of the list in the article of foods to avoid eating for nursing mothers to help alleviate baby’s gas
chocolates
spices such as cinnamon, garlic, curry, chili, and pepper
citrus fruits and their juices, like oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit
strawberries
kiwifruit
pineapple
the “gassy” veggies such as onion, cabbage, garlic, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, and peppers; and
fruits with a laxative effect, such as cherries and prunes
